School Services:  Types of Sites and Service Descriptions
Types of Services

BWOM provides speech-language pathology services mainly to Minnesota
schools.  We service private schools, public schools and charter schools.
Minnesota public schools are mandated to provide communication
services to students identified as in need, through Free Appropriate
Public Education - FAPE (under Section 504 for Students with Disabilities)
as well as through the amended Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
- IDEA (law ensuring services to children with disabilities throughout the
nation).

Private Schools:
Fees have been paid by the families or have been budgeted in
to specialist programming.

Public Schools: Many times we are utilized a short/long term substitutes when SLP
shortages arise.  We can cover caseloads or just complete evaluations and
documentation as needed.

Charter Schools: These schools tend to be smaller in size and do not warrant a
full-time or even a part-time therapist.  We work with the students, their teachers
and the special education contact person on a weekly basis.  We only bill for the
time we were at your facility working with students (also include 15-30 min. prep per
week) or time we spent documenting progress.

We are currently investigating telepractice services for
homeschoolers, web-site schools, and remote sites which are unable
to locate local therapists.  At this time we are booked and cannot take
private clients.  Our summers are more available for these types of
services so please contact us in the Spring.
